Mia ζζ § Jakobsen (she/they) is a humanities student at the University of Toronto. They do work and research relating to media theory, queer history, and digital humanities.
Courtney Bill (she/her) is studying creative writing at the University of Victoria, with a concentration in fiction. Her work has appeared in PRISM International and This Side of West.

about us
erato is a digital, non-profit, self-published literary magazine. inspired by "fragments, on the muses" by sappho, our namesake is the greek goddess of love poetry and lyric poetry.although we (the editors-in-chief) are based in canada, we hope that erato will reach beyond canada, with contributors and team members from a variety of places.we are looking to publish prose, poetry, non-fiction writing, and mixed media. each issue will have a different theme.
mission statement
as a sapphic magazine, we aim to centre and uplift sapphic voices, but we are inclusive to all other queer folk.the work featured in our magazine issues do not necessarily have to be about someone/thing sapphic or queer. we focus more on providing a safe and inclusive space for sapphic and queer folk to share their work.we encourage queer people of all places, experiences, and backgrounds to submit (or join our team!)

all of our issues are available to download as a PDF on gumroad. when purchasing an issue, just put $0 into the "Name a fair price" section to get it for free. we leave this section open for folks who feel generous to tip or pay us what they feel for our hard work. we love everyone who supports us, whether they tip or not, because we believe that everyone should be able to access our magazine.
